About me

My name is Blake Neff, and I am currently a Costume Design major, at Florida Southern College in Lakeland FL, expected to graduate in Spring 2027.

Through my academic training, I have developed hands-on experience in multiple different fields of technical theatre.  My coursework emphasizes precision, durability, and visual consistency. I am comfortable learning new techniques and adapting to detailed specifications.

I am a fast learner, highly detail-oriented, and motivated to grow. I value safety, quality standards, and consistency, and I am eager to further develop my skills under experienced professionals while contributing positively to the operation.

Vast Skills

Run Crew

I was on run crew for three shows and have handled various different types of props and other set pieces.

Costuming

I am focused in costume design. I was on costume crew for one show where I helped actors with costume changes.  I can hand sew and machine sew, surge, make simple patterns and costume renderings.

Lighting

I have been AME for two shows, and Board OP for one.  I am comfortable with heights, hanging, striking, and focusing lights as well.  I have basic skills in Vectorworks, and know how to read a light plot. I also know how to solder.

Acting

While I was in high school, I went to Thespians for district 10.  I was in a large group and small group production and got excellent for both. I also had a part in one of our musicals. I've taken choir, dance and multiple acting classes, so I have experience in singing, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, monologues, group scenes, and improv.
